Message in a Bottle Top – Year 2
The popular Message in a Bottle Top art project is back for its second year! Ignite pupils’ creativity to repurpose plastic waste into something beautiful with this cross-curricular programme. Learn about the damaging effects of plastic on the environment and animals we love. Then task pupils with turning that waste into art and enter the competition for a chance to win a £5,000 playground makeover!
Message in a Bottle Top is linked to the KS1-2/First-second level art & design, science, maths and citizenship curriculum. It also supports step 4 of the Ecoschools’ seven step programme! Suitable for pupils aged 5-11 learning in class or remotely.
This programme has been developed in partnership with sustainable decking company Composite Prime. Composite Prime has saved the equivalent of 176 million plastic milk bottles and over 1.8 billion bottle top caps from landfill, repurposing them for their products. Following their example, pupils will be inspired by waste artists Sarah Turner and Michelle Reader. Then, they will create their own art to show the creatures they’d love to protect from plastic pollution.
Your free educational resources include:
