While tech and connectivity are critical to children’s futures, use of technology and devices should never come at the expense of their safety or wellbeing.
Did you know 9 in 10 parents worry about the potential harms of social media to their children? Whether your pupils are heading to secondary school or in their final stages of primary, growing up with the online world isn’t easy.
That’s why EE created PhoneSmart – a free interactive course that shows children aged 10-13 how to stay safe and be kind online.
Join hundreds of other PhoneSmart users engaging in the course: “It was really useful as a conversation starter for various issues that can arise from having a phone and definitely gave her a good grounding on how to deal with those types of things”
How to Register & Complete the Course
- Download the helpful course content to help get your students set up.
- Once registered, you can set your students up on the PhoneSmart website. Students complete the five modules, which cover online safety topics like fake news and cyberbullying.
- As students work through the course, they’ll collect digital stickers and, once finished, receive their PhoneSmart Licence.
- The course can be done in class or at home and aligns with the PSHE and Computer Science curriculum.
- Students complete the course to get their PhoneSmart licence. They can then be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win 10 Samsung Galaxy A9 tablets for their school or an Xbox Series X if completed at home.
