Pupils across the UK were challenged to help save the planet by travelling emission free for a week. They could walk, scoot, cycle or use electric cars! Pupils were encouraged to record their miles each time they made a trip for the chance to win some great prizes including a school visit from celebrity Ben Fogle!
A whopping 5,717 emission free miles were accumulated by pupils during the competition with one pupil accumulating 280 zero emission miles over a 7-day period, making her the winner of the challenge!
A huge congratulations to:
Charlotte Cleevely,
Churchdown Village Junior School
As her prize, she will be attending the Formula E Championship in London. She also received a visit from writer and broadcaster Ben Fogle, who presented her prize in assembly along with the Minister for Transport, George Freeman MP.
We would also like to congratulate runner up Sophie Nyland, whose family will have access to an electric vehicle for a week, provided by BP Chargemaster.
A huge thank you for taking part in the competition and please continue to encourage your pupils to use emission-free travel when they can. If everyone takes a small step, together we can make a big difference!
