Samsung Solve for Tomorrow: Next Gen is back for a second year. Once again, Samsung is calling on the next generation of innovators to make the world a better place using tech.
What is it? A ready-to-play video lesson and competition that takes students through the Design Thinking process – from idea to prototype in 45 minutes. Just print and press play!
Who’s it for? Future changemakers aged 11–15
What’s included:
- 40-minute ‘plug and play’ video – featuring experts and Samsung employees that takes students through the Design Thinking process – from first inkling to an idea for a prototype
- Student ‘Sprintbook’ differentiated for 11-13 and 13-15, including competition entry forms.
- Teacher delivery guide – including a transcript of the video, giving you everything you need to support students to take part and enter their ideas into the national competition

Why take part?
- Real-life careers education – A great opportunity to introduce students to real-life creative STEM careers in product design, marketing and more. The interactive video lesson features real Samsung employees, supporting Gatsby benchmarks and with further opportunities to connect your classroom with Samsung volunteers.

As well as showcasing what it’s really like to work for a tech company, prizes include some amazing Samsung tech bundles for both teachers and students, and a chance to recognise the winning ideas as VIP guests at a Samsung event in the autumn.
Plus, every single competition entrant will receive their own digital certification from Samsung via Credly.
Solve for Tomorrow: Next Gen Tech Design Competition (11-15yrs)
ALL student entrants and teachers will receive digital certification from Samsung via Credly.
Prizes:
- A Samsung Galaxy Book for the teacher of the first prize winner(s)
- A Samsung Galaxy smartphone for the winning student or team – for both age categories
- Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro for the runners-up in both age categories
- Attendance as a VIP at a Samsung event in the Autumn for the first prize winners
- Samsung QM49R UD Screen for the winning schools, including one-year subscription to Samsung Education Assistant package
And from our survey teachers who ran the programme in 2021*:
