Glass Guardians – Super Investigators
Get set to involve the whole school on a planet-saving mission with Glass Guardians, a youth-led science and technology sustainability programme. Register today to receive a pack of resources that are engaging and easy-to-follow.
A launch assembly and curriculum-aligned activities take pupils on a journey to discover the environmental benefits of reducing, reusing, and recycling materials. They will then put their knowledge to the test by designing sustainable packaging solutions and finding creative ways to reuse glass.
What’s included?
Each resource pack for 5-7s and 7-11s includes:
- A Teacher Guide
- An Assembly PowerPoint
- A Mission Activity PowerPoint
- Mission Activity worksheets spanning the science and D&T/technology curriculum
- Access to an online digital experiment including a tour of a glass recycling plant
- Guidance for how to enter the Choose How You Reuse Challenge
Join Sophie and Rushil on a virtual tour of a recycling plant where they learn about the process of recycling glass with fun, interactive gameplay. Pupils then take part in an online experiment to become planet-saving Glass Guardians.
Take part in our very own Glass Guardians competition: The Choose How You Reuse Challenge
Explore the Glass Guardians Challenge! Pupils become innovators, blending their creativity with sustainability to a design or take a photo of how they’ve reused a glass item to give it a second life.
The most inventive entry will not only secure a £50 Hobbycraft voucher for the winner but also £250 for their classroom. The competition closes on 5th July 2024, so make sure all entries are submitted in time. T&C’s apply.
