NEW: Every Droplet Counts
Designed to run across a 1-hour session, Every Droplet Counts gets pupils aged 5-8 thinking about the water they use, with a hands-on activity that’ll make them appreciate every drop – even when it’s rain.
It’s as fun as it is educationally robust, with links to the CfE areas of Health and Wellbeing, Science, Social Subjects and Technologies.
What you’ll get
Register for free, and you can download the following resources:
- Teacher’s Guide – clear guidance on how to use these activities and how they link to the Curriculum for Excellence.
- Lesson PowerPoint – ready-to-use presentation with videos starring Droplet, our friendly waterdrop guide, and Scottish Water employees.
- Activity Sheet – a supporting worksheet to get pupils thinking of ways to save water.
- Homework Task – a worksheet for pupils to document the different ways they save or re-use water at home.
Keep Scotland Flowing
Bring the water cycle to life with a video-led journey for pupils aged 9-11 (P5-P7). Characters Arthur and Flo explain how water changes state, then challenge your pupils to create a campaign to protect and celebrate Scotland’s water.
It’s a great way to contribute to your school’s Water Topic in the Eco Schools Award, and supports learning in Literacy and Expressive Arts, as well as Science, Social Subjects and Health and Wellbeing.
What you’ll get
Once registered, you can download the following resources:
- Teachers’ Guide – comprehensive, easy-to-use lesson instructions, outlining full links to the Curriculum for Excellence.
- Interactive Lesson Presentations – characters Flo and Arthur take learners on a video-led journey through the water cycle.
- Homework Tasks – learners observe and document the water cycle in their local area.
- Campaign Planning Sheets – inspire learners to create their own powerful water campaign.
Mission H₂O
Make a splash with a playful and interdisciplinary water-saving challenge for P1-P7. Kick things off with an all-school assembly about using water sustainably, before pupils compete to complete water tasks all week.
Designed by education experts, it meets CfE objectives for Science, Social Subjects, Health and Wellbeing.
What you’ll get
Registered users can download the following resources:
- Mission H₂O Assembly Launch – a ready-made, engaging presentation to set the whole school on a mission.
