This exciting new initiative from Robinsons will spark conversations about fruit, where it comes from and the role it plays in building a healthy, nutritious diet. The short, easy-to-teach lesson is the perfect pre-summer activity and can be delivered in just 45 minutes! Teach pupils to identify fruits and vegetables, and discover how and where they are grown. Spark discussions about healthy eating using the resources provided. There are recommendations on how to adapt learning for different ages and abilities included in the teachers’ notes.
The Fantastic Fruits FREE resource pack includes:
- Interactive classroom lesson – full of interactive quizzes and fantastic fruit facts.
- Teacher delivery notes – step-by-step instructions on delivering the lesson and additional activities.
- In-class activity sheet – to consolidate learning.
- Competition leaflet – to design their own special fruit drink with family over the holidays.
- Curriculum links booklet – linked to the language & literacy, design & technology, science and health & wellbeing curricula.
THE COMPETITION
Challenges pupils to try some new varieties of fruit at home with the exciting Fantastic Fruits competition. Using what they have learnt in class, they will be able to design their own fruit drink and list the health benefits. The winner will receive a playground planter for the school, personalised window box, seed packets, book vouchers and gardening equipment for their whole class. Nine lucky runners up will receive seed packets, book vouchers, gardening equipment and a class fruit tree! See the full list of prizes in your free teacher guide.
The competition closes on Friday 9th September 2022.
HOW TO ENTER:
- Use the template provided on the competition leaflet to complete the entry.
- All the information on the entry form must be completed or it may not be counted.
- A parent or guardian must sign the entry form before sending it to us.
- Post your entries to: Fantastic Fruits, We Are Futures, 1 Paris Garden, London, SE1 8ND
- Or take a high-quality photograph of the entry and form and email it to: competitions@nationalschoolspartnership.com
