Some young people find understanding the economy difficult. However, it doesn’t have to be. Firstly, help your students understand how it works with simple activities. Then, use the informative case studies to show how the economy can impact their decisions. Finally, help your students recognise financial risks and how to minimise them.
Lesson 1: What influences my decisions? Explore a variety of factors that influence decisions, including the economy.
Lesson 2: How can I make informed decisions? Firstly, explore the process of decision-making then help students develop skills to source and analyse reliable information.
Lesson 3: Why do my decisions matter? Consider the consequences of any decisions your students might make. This includes, for themselves as well as for others and the economy.
