Aquafresh Brush Time Tales
Aquafresh Schools Club
Help children learn about the science behind teeth and the importance of good oral health with the free resources from Aquafresh Schools Club. Explore how cleaning teeth can become fun with these engaging resources, including informative activities that can be completed in socially distanced classrooms or at home!
These inspiring resources include a fun creative writing challenge, where pupils create their own two-minute tale previously used as part of the Brush Time Tales competition. The competition is now closed but this resource can still be used as a fun, independent learning task or as your own in class competition.
The importance of oral health
Every year there are 60,000 school days lost to tooth extractions and poor oral health[i]. Tooth decay affects a staggering 25% of 5-year olds and it remains the leading cause of hospitalisation in children aged 5-9[ii].
The Aquafresh Schools Club is empowering young people to take ownership of their dental hygiene by making brush time, fun time! The programme has links to the KS1 Science, English and PSHE curricula. Get started and develop your children’s creative thinking and literacy skills.
Downloading these resources gives teachers access to free lesson plans with activities, while parents can find shorter and more adapted versions. Both versions will introduce children to important facts about teeth, key oral health lessons and what good tooth brushing and oral hygiene should look like. Cleaning teeth can become fun with the creation of two-minute stories to be read and listened to during brush time.
Resources for ages 5-7 include:
- PowerPoint Presentation
- Teacher Notes
- Supporting Activity Sheets
- Parent Leaflet
- Competition Entry
*The Brush Time Tales competition is now closed but if you’re looking for exciting ways to engage your pupils this lockdown, you can still use the entry form either as an independent creative writing task, or why not run your own competition in your virtual classroom?
