The Sure Breaking Limits Competition! T&Cs
The Sure Breaking Limits Programme equips young people with the confidence to move however they want, by breaking down barriers set by themselves and others. By bringing awareness to the life-changing power of movement, Sure is on a mission to break through the barriers that stop young people from moving and adopting a more active lifestyle. The Breaking Limits competition helps embed the values covered in lessons by celebrating overcoming obstacles and getting moving.
Unilever is proud to offer The Sure Breaking Limits Competition subject to the following terms and conditions. References to “you” and “your” or “Group Leader” means you as the prospective Registered teacher/account holder.
Eligibility
The Sure Breaking Limits Competition is aimed at young people 9-14, based within the UK.
Registration is open to the following organisations and individuals within the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland:
- primary, secondary, all through and special schools
Ineligible participants include:
- Employees or independent contractors, officers, or directors of Unilever or We are Futures, or any of their agents, representatives, advertising, promotion, publicity and fulfillment agencies, legal advisors, successors and assigns, and any other company or person that is involved with the production, design, execution, administration or distribution of this Promotion (collectively, the “Released Parties”), is eligible to enter or win.
- Anyone who lives with (whether or not related), or who is an immediate family member of, any one of the Released Parties (i.e., parents, siblings, children and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside).
- The Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, territorial, provincial, municipal and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
The Promoter
- The Promoter is: National Schools Partnership, a trading division of We Are Futures Ltd, 1 Paris Garden, London SE1 8ND.
- Prizes will be provided by: Unilever U.K. Central Resources Limited, Victoria Embankment 100, London, EC4Y 0DY
How to enter: Rules for Entry
- The competition will run from 09:00 on 23rd November 2023 (the “Opening Date“) to 23:59 on Tuesday May 7th 2024 (the “Closing Date“) inclusive. The Promoter reserves the right to revise this date and extend the period for accepting entries for the competition in the event of circumstances arising beyond its reasonable control.
- The competition is open to all Primary, Secondary, All through and Special schools in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland for pupils between the ages of 9-14 years excluding employees of the Promoter.
- Entry to the competition is free.
- Entries to be submitted by teachers, aged 18 or over, who have gained permission to share/ submit their students’ entries.
- To be in with a chance of winning, your student’s task is to create a visual – either a photograph, video or drawing – that demonstrates how they have broken a barrier to movement. This could include a barrier they’ve broken themselves, or one they’ve helped a classmate or friend to break, for example when they supported a classmate to feel more confident. The entry could include 2-3 lines of explainer copy that you could help them with if needed however we won’t judge the entry on the supporting copy as it is just for context.
- Entries can be in the form of a photograph, video or drawing.

- To enter the competition, entrants must submit a visual, telling us how they have broken a barrier to movement. The visual can be in the form of an image, a drawing, or a video.
- There is no limit on the number of entries a school can submit, but only one entry can be submitted per student/team.
Competition Entries
- All schools entering the competition must have a registered account with the National Schools Partnership. This account:
- requires a member of staff in the school to provide their contact details.
- Incomplete, illegible or corrupt entries, or those not in accordance with entry instructions, will not be accepted.
- No responsibility is accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed as a result of any network, computer hardware or software failure of any kind. Proof of entry will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
- Entrants who do not give correct details or those who make an entry on someone else’s behalf will be disqualified.
- No entries from agents, third parties, organised groups or entries automatically generated by a computer will be accepted. Incomplete or illegible entries or those not in accordance with the entry instructions will not be accepted.
- In all cases entrants’ data will only be used for the purposes of administering this Promotion and for no other purpose (see Privacy Policy).

- Entries must not:
- Be violent, negative or/and discriminative of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, profane or obscene;
- Promote or be about the use of illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons, and any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message;
- Be offensive or be about hate;
- Defame, misrepresent or contain negative remarks about the Promoter or its products or other people, products or companies;
- Contain commercial names or trademarks owned by others or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind, without permission, or contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, email addresses or street addresses;
- Contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, sculptures, paintings and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media or musical ‘samples’) without permission;
- Contain materials embodying photographs, footage or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead without permission;
- Communicate messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Promoter wishes to associate;
- Depict, and cannot itself be in violation of any law.
- Any inappropriate or offensive material may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
- Entries will be automatically reviewed and moderated for content before being entered into the competition, however such review does not relieve you from responsibility for compliance with these Terms and Conditions. Any Entry that is found, at any time, not in compliance with these Terms and Conditions or that otherwise contain prohibited or inappropriate content as determined by the Promoter, in its sole discretion, will be disqualified. The Promoter shall have sole and final determination as to which entries are eligible to take part in this Promotion and no correspondence will be entered into.
- FOR SAFETY REASONS it is important that Participants do not include or reveal any personal information (e.g. name, contact details, etc.) in any Content.
Judging
- Entries will be judged using the following criteria:
- To create a visual – either a photograph, video or drawing – that demonstrates how they have broken a barrier to movement. This could include a barrier they’ve broken themselves, or one they’ve helped a classmate or friend to break, for example when they supported a classmate to feel more confident. - Entry shows an awareness and understanding of how barriers exist to movement and celebrates overcoming those obstacles to movement.
- Entry presents an engaging and compelling example to the audience of how they have broken barriers in a way which embodies the ethos of the programme, demonstrating that they have really understood the key learnings from one of the three lessons (self-confidence, inclusivity and positive mindset) (Critical Thinking).
- Entry portrays their story in a creative way using a visual of their choice – photograph, video, or drawing. The best entries will be those that tell their story really well through the visual. (Creativity).
- Entry shows awareness of the importance of breaking barriers to movement (for themselves and/or others) and communicates this clearly to the audience (Communication).

Winner Selection
- Following the end of the Competition Period, Entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel of judges comprised of employees or agents of the Promoter. The panel of judges shall review the Entries to determine the top four (4) Entries which, in the panel of judges’ view, best meet the Winning Criteria.
- The decision of the judges shall be final. No correspondence or negotiation will be entered into by the Promoter concerning either the decision or the result.
- The winners will be notified using the email address associated with the winners NSP accounts by no later than May 2024. The winners will have 5 working days from the date the notification was sent to claim their Prize by responding to the Promoter’s email (a “Claim”).
- In the event that a winner or substitute winner is unreachable, ineligible, or fails to Claim the Prize in the time required, the winner or substitute winner shall forfeit their Prize and it will be awarded to the next Participant selected in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- All Prizes will be delivered within 60 days of a Claim.
The Prize
- 4 winners (subject to availability and regionality) will have an Olympian or Paralympian athlete attend their school sports day.
- Activities on the day could include:
- Delivering a motivational speech
- Leading a mass warm up with pupils
- Medal giving and prize photo opportunities
- Prizes are subject to availability. There is no cash alternative for the prize.
- The prize is supplied by the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control makes it necessary to do so.
- The prize is not negotiable or transferable.
Winner notification
- The winners will be notified by the Promoter using the telephone number or email address provided with the prize draw entry. All reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winners.
- If a winner does not respond within 2 working days of being first notified, then the prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries that were received before the Closing Date.
- The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.
- The Promoter will liaise with the winner or align on the day to attend sports day.
- The winner is required to allow the Promoter to capture content of the event and to allow access to a film crew on the day. Necessary consent permissions are to be secured from students in advance by the school and the Promoter.
- The winner is required to ensure the Sports day agenda will incorporate the Olympian or Paralympian presence and they will be folded into activities
- The winner is required to ensure the Senior Leadership Team are aware of the presence / visit of the Olympian or Paralympian
- The winner will agree to not source press or media at the Sports Day event and not to promote the attendance of the Olympian or Paralympian wider than the school community.
Limitation of Liability
- Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Ownership of prize draw entries and intellectual property rights
- By submitting your prize draw entry and any accompanying material, you agree to:
- assign to the Promoter all your intellectual property rights with full title guarantee; and waive all moral rights, in and to your prize draw entry and otherwise arising in connection with your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 as amended from time to time and under all similar legislation from time to time in force anywhere in the world.
Use of the Entries / Content by the Promoter
- The Promoter may publish Content produced by the winners on any of its websites or any social networking website any and all Content received by it in connection with this Competition at any time and for any reason.
- All Participants hereby provide a non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual, transferable licence to the Promoter to use the Content submitted for any purpose, including without limitation for advertising the Promoter’s products. The Participant hereby waives all moral rights they have in the Content submitted to the fullest extent permitted by law.
- Each Participant warrants that they are the person who created the Content submitted to this Competition and that all Content adheres to the Content Guidelines. The Participant shall indemnify the Promoter and hold it harmless from and against any losses, damages, liabilities, obligations, claims, actions and demands, including without limitation reasonable legal fees, arising directly or indirectly from any breach of warranty set out in this clause.
- Data protection and publicity
- Entrants’ personal information will only be processed by the Promoter as set out in its privacy notice: https://nationalschoolspartnership.com/privacy-policy/. The Promoter will only receive the personal information of the prize draw winner and not that of any other entrant.
- As required by the Advertising Standards Authority, the surname and county of the prize winner can be obtained by emailing competitions@nationalschoolspartnership.com and quoting “Sure Breaking Limits Programme 2023”. By entering, the winner consents to such information being disclosed upon request. - General
- If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the prize draw.
- The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize draw where it becomes necessary to do so.
- The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
