Young people, aged 16-25, across the UK and Ireland are invited to explore how tech can be used to tackle some of society’s biggest issues.
No qualifications needed.
We’re looking for tech-based solutions around four themes: Education, Sustainability, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Social Isolation.
The best 24 ideas have the chance to win once-in-a-lifetime mentoring opportunities and a cash prizes!
What’s on offer?
Introduce your students to experts in the fields of design, tech, marketing and more…
Simply pass on the self-directed resources to your students OR run Solve for Tomorrow in Enterprise or extra-curricular sessions. Resources include:
- Poster and PowerPoint to tell students all about the opportunity
- Competition Entry Pack walking them through the steps of the Design Thinking process – used by designers around the globe
- Access to Innovator Hub full of inspiration
Great for students studying D&T, Economics, Business studies but open to all.
Young people will build the skills to design the future and gain unique experiences to set them apart on post-18 pathway applications.

Solve for Tomorrow’s 2022 winner Ramneek Kaur Ahluwalia, who herself is visually impaired, developed a tech-forward mobility aid that allows users to navigate their surroundings, and this is what she had to say about her experience:
“Throughout the competition, we have been able to work with incredible mentors and have learnt so much from the other finalists. I’m really looking forward to developing MyVision as a tool to help the visually impaired community navigate their lives in a simpler way.”
The competition
Can you imagine a world where tech is used as a force for good to improve education, sustainability, social isolation or diversity?
That’s what the Solve for Tomorrow Competition 2023 is all about, creating a platform for new tech-for-good ideas and helping participants develop the skills they need to make their ideas a reality.
Entries can be from an individual or a team of up to five, so whether you’re have maverick or a dream team in mind, be sure to get all students involved.
Register to receive resources containing everything your students need to know about entering and share the competition entry pack to give students the best chance at winning.
Once-in-a-lifetime prizes up for grabs!
The most inspiring 24 entries will be chosen to take part in a series of workshops and mentoring in the new year, helping to take their ideas to the next level. With equal opportunities to win across two age categories: 16-18 and 18-25.
- First prize – £10,000 cash prize, 3 months expert mentoring with Startup Discovery School, plus industry connections and networking opportunities!
- Runners Up – £1,000 cash prize, plus 3 months expert mentoring with the Startup Discovery School.
- All Entrants – Will receive a Credly badge as recognition for taking part.
Once they’ve come up with a game changing idea, they just need to submit here by Sunday 18th December, 23:59pm.
