Dove Self-Esteem Project Ireland
As the biggest provider of self-esteem education in the world, Dove believes that no young person should be held back from reaching their full potential. But in Ireland, 44% of young people reported that they were dissatisfied with their bodies.
Help us combat this by building positive body confidence and self-esteem through the Dove Self-Esteem Project, already running globally since 2014 and now launching for the first time in the Republic of Ireland. Written by education experts, based on research from the Centre For Appearance Research and endorsed by Irish teachers, the resources are easy-to-use by teachers or parents, and are proven to have a positive impact on young people’s self-esteem.
Themes covered include:
- Appearance pressures
- Social media
- Avoiding comparison & taking action!
The downloadable toolkit helps build self-esteem and confidence in themselves, then inspire it in others too. Use the resources as a single session or run them as a series of five. Be sure to also share the parent resources with guardians, ensuring these lessons continue into the home.
Every young person deserves to grow up feeling confident about themselves. Use our free resources to support your learners at home or in school today.
“These workshops offer teachers lots of fun and positive resources to engage students in issues relevant to growing up in today’s society such as body image, self-esteem, and the media. They are ideal for use as part of the SPHE and Wellbeing curriculum. There is also a resource specifically for parents that offers guidance on the role that they can play.” Teacher, Dublin
