Dove Self-Esteem Project Ireland
Every young person deserves to feel confident. But in Ireland, 87% of girls have low self-esteem – higher than the global average – while a third of boys are dissatisfied with the way their body looks. And more than half of Irish girls say that feeling insecure about their appearance impacts their education.
Dove have teamed up with education experts to create a wide range of ready-to-teach, SPHE and wellbeing-linked lessons for delivery in primary and post-primary schools across the Republic of Ireland. All resources link into all aspects of the Social, Personal, and Health Education curriculum.
“These workshops offer teachers lots of fun and positive resources to engage students in issues relevant to growing up in today’s society such as body image, self-esteem, and the media. They are ideal for use as part of the SPHE and Wellbeing curriculum. There is also a resource specifically for parents that offers guidance on the role that they can play.” – Teacher, Dublin
It’s competition time!
Challenge students to design a poster that will spread confidence, kindness, and positive self-esteem around school. Using topics from the free Dove Self-Esteem resources, students will broadcast key themes around positive self-worth.
The winning entry will receive a pack of branded Dove goodies for their class, along with a bundle of self-esteem books!
PLUS, all schools to enter will be placed into a free prize draw to win a bundle of self-esteem books for their school library! 10 winners will be picked at random.
Enter your students’ ‘Spread the Confidence’ posters into the competition by taking a picture of their work and sending it to doveselfesteem@nationalschoolspartnership.com.
