British Glass, the representative body for the UK glass industry, challenged pupils to become Glass Guardians and come up with a creative way to encourage their communities to recycle more glass.
The campaign, that used our free educational resources, taught pupils the value of glass as a sustainable material, while encouraging them to see the importance of recycling glass for maintaining the world they live in.
Pupils across the country rose to the challenge and we are pleased to announce the winners of the Glass Guardians competition:
1st Place – Amazon Fire Tablet and £500 of equipment vouchers for the school
Mayana Brown (College Town Junior School)
Using all she had learnt from the Glass Guardians lesson Mayana created a song with her dad to teach people about the importance of recycling glass. The catchy tune was so popular, that soon the whole school was singing it! Check out her entry below and you’ll be singing along in no time!
